Hear from researchers Dr Alex Deans and Professor Nigel Leask, who will explore Pennant’s two famous journeys: his 1769 natural history tour and his ambitious 1772 voyage to the Hebrides. The talks will be illustrated with early images of Scotland, including rarely-seen watercolours by the artist Moses Griffith.The event will be chaired by Prof Mary-Ann Constantine and include an audience Q&amp;A.About the speakersDr Alex Deans is a researcher with the Curious Travellers project at the University of Glasgow, focusing on Pennant's 1769 tour.Prof Nigel Leask holds the Regius Chair of English at the University of Glasgow and will discuss the 1772 Hebrides voyage.Professor Mary-Ann Constantine is the project lead for Curious Travellers (University of Wales).When you book an event, your personal information will be held and used by the National Library of Scotland and our third-party suppliers for the purposes of allowing you to attend the event and for audience research.
