Sashiko Stitching for Beginners
A hands-on 5-hour workshop with SWI tutor Lorraine McCafferty
Discover the beauty and mindfulness of Sashiko, the traditional Japanese art of decorative stitching. Perfect for beginners, this workshop introduces the history, techniques, tools, and stitches that make Sashiko a timeless craft.
You’ll enjoy a mix of demonstrations and hands-on practice, including:
Lunch will be provided, with a 30-minute break and tea and coffee available.
All materials are provided, including Japanese fabric, traditional thread, and needles, so you can start stitching right away. Leave inspired with new skills and sample pieces to continue your Sashiko journey at home!
