- **Event Description**: Join us for this beginner squirrel hunting workshop on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. ET at Atterbury Fish & Wildlife Area. Squirrel hunting is easy way to start putting wild game on your table and practicing your skills in the woods this fall. Whether you're new to hunting or just geared up to try something different this season, we look forward to seeing you!

This adults-oriented (16+) workshop will cover basic squirrel biology, hunting tips, gear selection, safety, regulations, and ways to take your harvest from field to fork (or from the tree to the table, that is). While prior certification from a hunter education course is not required for this workshop, the content will build upon its basic principles. The class will consist of a 30–45-minute lecture followed by hands-on activities to help solidify your squirrel hunting knowledge and practice skills you may use in the field. Participants can expect a small amount of walking (up to one mile). Pants and closed-toe shoes are recommended.
