We look forward to seeing you there!Key facts on the levy:· The levy is a 5% charge on the accommodation-only cost of the paid, overnight accommodation.· The scheme was formally agreed in January 2025 and has applied to all advance bookings made since 1 October 2025 for stays taking place on or after 24 July 2026. Stays on or after 24 July 2026 which were booked and paid for (in part or full) before 1 October 2025 are not subject to the levy.· Accommodation providers are liable to collect the levy, with the first payments (covering stays from 24 July – 30 September) due to the Council from 1 October – 13 November 2026.· Accommodation providers can sign up now to visitorlevy.scot, where they will remit and pay the levy.· Detailed information on the levy can be found on the Council’s website at edinburgh.gov.uk/visitorlevy.Please note that these sessions are for accommodation providers and liable parties only.
