- **Event Description**: A forum to consider and inform the opportunities and challenges of implementing clinical genomics in Scottish healthcare.About this EventWe are pleased to announce that the Clinical Genomes Scotland meeting, a forum to consider and inform the opportunities and challenges of implementing clinical genomics in Scottish healthcare, hosted by the One Health Genomics Edinburgh network.Recognising the major developments over the past five years in the application of genome technologies and information to healthcare, including the rapidly falling costs of genome sequencing, the Clinical Genomes Scotland meeting will:Discuss recent developments in genome sequencing technology and its implementation in healthcare.Establish how genome-based testing can support patient care, such as during pregnancy in patients at risk of having children with severe genetic conditions, and to assist healthcare providers in making the best treatment decisions for patients with cancer.Review the development and long-term use of genomic data and IT systems to support effective implementation of genome technologies in healthcare.Consider how to maximise the use of innovation pathways in genome technology and information for R&D within universities, the pharmaceutical industry, and by healthcare providers.Details of the programme are available on the Clinical Genomes Scotland web page.The meeting is hosted by One Health Genomics Edinburgh, and is sponsored by Centogene, Congenica, Element Biosciences, Illumina, Oxford Nanopore, Pacific Biosciences, Roche, Sophia Genetics and Ultima Genomics.Please be aware that space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
