- **Event Description**: Join us to take part in the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch!About this EventThe Treecreepers and Salisbury Centre community garden are combining forces to take part in the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch, a vital citizen science project that maps bird populations across the UK.We will first discuss the project and prepare everyone with the skills and equipment they need. Then we will sit quietly for 1 hour in the garden recording all the bird species present. It will be cold work so wrap up! Afterwards we will collate all our findings, have a chat about what we saw and submit the data to the RSPB.Some prior bird knowledge is helpful but not essential – there will be people who can help you learn all about the birds we see! If you have your own binoculars or bird ID guides please do bring them along.Despite the age restrictions with The Treecreepers this event is for all ages!About the TreecreepersThe Treecreepers is a birdwatching and nature group for people aged 18-35 and was founded by El, a queer & neurodiverse person. It is a safe space for people to explore and learn about nature, especially birds, with other people who share the same interests. It is for anyone aged 18-35 who wants to get outside, connect with like-minded people and discover the diverse range of birds and other wildlife Edinburgh has to offer.Room:This event will take place in our beautiful garden. Please dress appropriately for the weather!Accessibility: The Salisbury Centre’s kitchen door and toilet are now wheelchair accessible. The Garden can also be accessed by wheelchairs via a movable ramp via the Art Room Annex. Please let the organisers know in advance of any access requirements. Additionally, if relevant, please fill in this PEEP template and share it with the organisers.Cost:This event is run by donation. All donations will go towards supporting the Salisbury Centre and it's work. If you would like to donate, you can do so via our website here or via Eventbrite when you check-out. If donating via the website, please write the reference 'Bird Watch'.
