After having to postpone our January visit due to the cold, we’re finally heading out to explore this incredible saline landscape. We’ll begin at the Brush Line Road entrance trail and take our time observing the unique plants that thrive in these salty conditions.

This will be a short 1.5-mile round-trip walk to the lake. Closed-toe or sturdy walking shoes are recommended especially if it’s rained recently, as the salt can get slippery. Bring water, sun protection, snacks, and comfortable hiking clothes.

As always, feel free to bring native plants or seeds to swap just please make sure they are true natives (no ornamentals, cultivars, or invasives).
