Key Dates: Qualifier 1: Saturday evening, April 18th, - Max 5 to qualify (Indoor arena - taking place after the last IQHA Spring Show class finishes with a short interval to set up the arena. Qualifier 2: Sunday, May 10th - 3:00 PM - Remaining 5 places (Indoor or outdoor arena depending on weather) Grand Final: Sunday, May 31st, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Outdoor Sand Arena, Drumcoura Equestrian Centre) Location: Drumcoura Equestrian Centre, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim N41YD92 Prizes: Grand Final Prize: €1,000 CASH – Winner Takes All! 🏆 Felix Prior Perpetual Cowboys & Heroes Trophy (If winner is under 18, prize will be awarded to a parent/guardian) Finalists: 10 Horse/Rider combinations Each Finalist receives two weekend tickets to the Cowboys & Heroes Festival (value: €200) Competition Format: ✅ Open Event No age limits or horse size categories One rider may enter multiple horses (separate entry fee per combination) Horses cannot do more than one championship entry Only the qualifying combination earns a spot in the final Open to All breeds and Western tack or attire not essential. All Youths U18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Hard hats of the current safety standards MUST be worn by ALL youths U18. We strongly recommend that ALL riders wear a hard hat, however if any adult rider wishes to wear a Stetson hat or similar they MUST sign a hat waiver. Qualifiers Top 5 fastest combinations from each Qualifier advance to the Final Reserve spots will be offered to next-highest placed combinations in case of withdrawal (received before deadline: Wednesday, May 20th at 6PM) “Have a Go” Fun Runs Entry: €15 (2 runs per entry; max 4 runs) No eligibility for Grand Final qualification Open to all levels for fun & practice Entry Fees: Championship Qualifier Entry: €30 (2 runs ; fastest of the two runs counts) Late Entry: €35 Optional Buy-In: €20 (2 additional runs; once per combination) IQHA (Irish Quarter Horse Association) Members Discounts: Championship Qualifier Entry: €25 entry / €15 Buy-In Fun Run (HC): €15 for 2 runs / Max 2 entries (4 runs) Important Info: Entries will be accepted at the onsite Show Office during the Spring Show.
