Get ready to go nuts in Edenton! 

Join us on Saturday, October 3, 2026, for the Nut Run, an exciting kickoff to the Annual Peanut Festival! Runners will enjoy a one-of-a-kind race experience through the scenic streets of historic Downtown Edenton and the rich farmland of Chowan County—home to generations of peanut growers.

Choose from a 5K, 10K, or take on the 15K Nutty Challenge by running both back-to-back! The course blends charming waterfront views, colonial architecture, and stretches of active peanut fields just before harvest—offering a crisp fall morning full of Southern charm and small-town energy.

7:00 am: 10k Starts
8:30 am: 5k Starts
10:00 am: Downtown Peanut Parade Starts

In order to complete the 15K Nutty Challenge you'll need to finish the 10K within 1.5 hrs and start the 5K on time at 8:30am.

After crossing the finish line, stick around for a full day of festival fun:

🥜 A sack race for kids brings classic fun to the courthouse green
🎶 Live porch music fills the air throughout downtown 
And John A Holmes High School's Battle of the Bands Starts at 2!

All proceeds from the Nut Run benefit Main Street Edenton, supporting downtown revitalization, events, and historic preservation efforts that keep our beloved town vibrant and growing.
