Themes of ideal skiing in the advanced zone – expert zone

  1. Emphasis on the finish phase decreases while emphasis on the shaping phase increases.

  1. Versatility
  1. The skier’s ability to adapt to most snow conditions, terrain and speed while maintaining the ability to carry speed from turn to turn.
  1. The skier can adjust technical intent in all situations.

  1. Fundamental focus  (Regulate Magnitude, BLENDING)

Key ski performance

  1. The tail of the ski follows the tip of the ski through the initiation of the turn.
  1. The ski bends the most during the shaping phase/apex of the turn.

Key body performance

  1. The body shapes to align with the outside ski during turn initiation
  1. Stance width varies as terrain, snow, and speed dictate.
