About the location:
The Shire Brook Valley Nature Reserve is on the site of the former Coisley Hill Sewage works, but you would never tell from running around it. Home to Barn Owls, Grasshopper Warblers, and Water Voles, the site also contains the tudor-era Carr Forge Dam and associated reservoir. Runners will take a detour to the nearby grade-II listed Birley Spa Bath House.

How to get there:
The number 24,7 or 120 buses from town will get you there. There is some limited car parking on site but please car share, run, walk, ride, bus etc. if you can.

Terrain/Route:
This is a single lap 10km course around a beautiful nature reserve, with the traditional ups and downs. The trails are pretty good here, with gravel paths mainly, but there are a few slightly muddier paths too. The route was inspired by The ShireBrook Shimmy, part of the Not the Cat Lane Canter Grand Prix series. 

Facilities:
Our friends at the Shire Brook Valley Heritage and Conservation Groups are hoping to open the Visitor Centre with refreshments for runners and access to a toilet.
