- **Event Description**: An outdoor session for children who have been in school all day to play, craft and just be in nature whilst learning a few bits about plants, wildlife and folklore.

We can:
 ? Take a short walk to look at what is growing and look for animal tracks and signs.
? Build dens
? Create crafts to reflect the season or theme of the session.
? Swing in the hammocks
? Make tasty treats in the mud kitchen

We'll also make a drink using the kelly kettle or on a campfire weather dependent and have a snack.

This workshop will be curated for families with children of primary school age but younger or older siblings are welcome.

We will be based in a little woodland glade just by the visitor centre and a 2 minute walk from the car park. Accessible toilets are available in the visitor centre as well as lots of information about Shire Brook Valley and other events.

This session is FREE OF CHARGE thanks to funding from the Government's Species Survival Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.

The project has also been supported by funding from partners and other organisations, totalling almost £400,000. These include National Grid, The Environment Agency, South Yorkshire Sustainability Centre, Sheffield Hallam University, Yorkshire Water, Friends of Richmond Park and the South Yorkshire Badger Group.

The funding was granted to enable habitat creation and restoration/enhancement works to support species abundance and the conservation and interpretation of Shire Brook Valley’s heritage.
