This season, one of your favorite trails doubles as a storybook! Wander the Egg Lawn Signature Trail and read a children’s book page by page as you go. Each stop includes a new part of the story and fun activities. StoryWalk® is FREE, self-guided, and four different books will be featured across four weekends in 2026. Come out, explore, and enjoy reaching in the fresh air!
The Spring StoryWalk® is free and open to all from dawn to dusk. It will open on Friday, March 27th, and close on Sunday, March 29th. Our Featured Story is Over and Under the Pond by Kate Messner.
Story Synopsis: A secret underwater world brought to life: This gorgeous companion to the acclaimed Over and Under the Snow and Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt is an excellent addition to any emerging reader’s collection. StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children’s book are attached to temporary signs, which are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you’re directed to the next page in the story. On the back of the signs, you will find more information and activity prompts. StoryWalks® have been installed in 50 states and 13 countries.
