Join us on the Salish Sea Molt-Blitz Day and help defend our shorelines and ecosystem from invasive, destructive species!

Orcas Island- Eastsound Waterfront Park
Friday, June 26th, 2:00-4:00pm

This workshop is free and open to the public, with a limit of 20 participants. If you are interested in marine science and conservation, and finding cool critters on the beach, then this training is for you - no experience is necessary!

European green crabs (Carcinus maenas) are one of the world’s most invasive marine species, and they pose a serious threat to Washington’s eelgrass habitat and native animals. In this training, you will learn how to identify different crab species and conduct quick, easy crab molt surveys, which will help track the spread of European green crab as well as provide data on the health of our native Dungeness crab population.
