Proper Pruning of Apple Trees

Apple trees are abundant in Eastport and surrounding areas, and proper pruning is essential to reduce disease and insect infestations. It also helps produce larger, better-tasting apples. Join Laz and Paula for a hands on workshop on the proper pruning of apple trees, organically of course! We’ll answer any questions you have about pruning other fruit-bearing trees as well. Please register by emailing with APPLE in the subject line. $10 per person, under 12 yrs free.

There is a free one in Lubec. Downeast Coastal Conservatory. We are a small local business that is our livelihood and a $10 fee is very reasonable. Thank you.

Ok. I believe in supporting local businesses and if you’ve ever been to one of our apple tree pruning event, it certainly is worth the $10 sorry.

Oh, and one more thing, we’ve been doing this for years and not once have we ever got one apple tree pruned totally during this event. Never asked anybody to pick up after ourselves either.

We pay property taxes in Eastport. Been here 13 years, owned our house for 15. We work hard and we give lots of support, but this is our living. I would certainly not go into a retail store and ask for something free. Also, the first half is a slide show with handout so you can learn proper techniques, how to turn towards no spray. Methods etc. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS.
