He and his bandmates create a hypnotic blend of New Orleans funk and brass-reggae-flavored-world-blues-American and Zydeco roots music, that beckons you to your feet and into the groove. Simien has found an authentic and artful way to deliver his roots music as a relevant, evolving artist who is clearly rooted in Louisiana Creole music traditions.

This stellar group of artists have performed nearly 10,000 concerts and toured millions of miles to over 45 countries during their eventful career. Their music has been placed in multiple major studio theatre release films, including a Disney animated film. They’ve shared studio and stage with legends like the Meters, Art Neville, Los Lobos, Marcia Ball, the late Robert Palmer, and Dave Matthews Band, to name a few.

Good News! The Avalon Lobby Bar and Ava’s Pizzeria have partnered together to enhance your Avalon Theatre experience by bringing Ava’s “Greatest Hits” as concessions before and after Avalon Theatre shows. 

The Avalon Lobby Bar will be open every Friday and Saturday from 5-10pm. In addition, the Lobby Bar will be open two hours prior to and one hour after Avalon Theatre shows throughout the rest of the week. We hope to see you there.
