The narrator tells the story, adapted from a Russian folk tale, of the boy Peter, his grumpy grandfather, a duck, a bird and a cat – and of course, the wolf which Peter eventually catches and takes to the zoo.Each character is brought to life by unforgettable music and children very quickly learn to distinguish between the different themes and sonorities.Children actively join in the performance, supported and encouraged by Noa – each has a prop or a puppet so that they can engage with the drama as the story unfolds. We would suggest that children from 3 to 9 would enjoy the event.William Hancox will provide the music live, using Prokofiev’s own arrangement for solo piano.
