In our Level 1 program, we assume no knowledge of dance from the participants. Additionally, no partner is needed to participate in our program.Within the NJ Salsa (Level 1) curriculum, there are 18 movements that make up the core material. At the end of the first class, the instructors will offer to share the digital copy of the 18 movements. Internalization of the material from class combined with practice, are instrumental in progression.SALSA (Level 2) - 8pmSalsa (Level 2) builds on the fundamentals of Salsa (Level 1) and deepens the foundations of salsa with the goal of social dancing through the practice of “shines” (patterned footwork & body movement), drills (partnered & solo), and partner-work patterns.This program assumes knowledge of the prerequisites acquired in Salsa (Level 1) and moves much quicker. Although some participants are tapped for this program by an instructor or coach, the most common way to enter Salsa (Level 2) is by qualifying through a scheduled assessment.​Wednesday Social at Dream Bar & Other Opportunities For PracticeAfter our weekly classes at Dream Bar, located in American Dream, we will host a complimentary social for the participants in our classes. Although our classes on Wednesday is only for our registered participants, our social which will begin at 9pm will be open to the public at no cost...so feel free to stick around and practice, and invite your friends!While the social is optional, we strongly encourage everyone in our Level 1 programs to begin social dancing from the very first class. The application of knowledge, especially when it's fresh on the mind, is essential for progress. You'll find people who have already gone through our programs, as well as those who are attending classes at our other locations.In addition to the weekly social on Wednesday at Dream Bar, NJ Salsa hosts weekly, monthly, and seasonal socials and dance brunches that span as far south as Asbury Park to as far north as American Dream. You may have also heard that we host the largest Latin music and dance festival in New Jersey, one Saturday a month, called THE LATIN SOCIAL at American Dream!Since the cost of parking for our classes on Wednesdays will be $5 each class, we are happy to gift every registered participant in our classes a ticket to our popular monthly social, THE LATIN SOCIAL at American Dream!!PARKINGParking at American Dream is $5 parking.
