# Event Details - **Event Name**: Cooley Landing Nature Walk - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 12 Jul, 2025 at 05:00 pm – Sat, 12 Jul, 2025 at 06:30 pm - **Event Description**: Walk a 2.2 mile walk from Cooley Landing to Ravenswood Preserve and learn about wetland restoration in East Palo Alto.About this EventJoin us for a morning walk in partnership with Fresh Approach at Cooley Landing! Participants can expect to learn about native plants, the importance of habitat restoration, the threat of sea level rise, and hopefully some exciting wildlife sightings! We will start with a welcome, learn about the history of Cooley Landing and then take a stroll to learn about salt marsh ecology. The walk will be roughly 2.2 miles total on mostly paved trail.Visit Grassroots Ecology's Cooley Landing and Ravenswood webpages to learn more about the ecosystems and accessibility considerations.Waivers/Registration: All volunteers attending the workday must be registered individually and have approved the online waiver through this Eventbrite page. Youth under 18 must have their legal guardian approve the waiver on their behalf. Volunteers age 12 and under require an accompanying adult.Parking: There are two small parking lots available at Cooley Landing. There is a parking lot at the end of Bay Road near the Education Center, and a smaller parking lot near Ravenswood Preserve. No entrance or parking fees are required.Bus: Take the 296 going North to Bay/Pulgas or the 280 going East to Bay/Pulgas. From the bus stop, it's a half mile walk down Bay Road to Cooley Landing.Bike: There are spots to lock up your bike at the Education Center.Meeting Space: We will meet at the Cooley Landing Education Center.
