At 2025"s event, our honoured guest Sindile, an ex-pupil of Salem, was afforded an incredible opportunity to meet rugby legends Breyton Paulse and Hempies du Toit, who were brought to the event through the generosity of Slimsy Sport and Dynamic Brands.
During the day, Sindile was gifted one of Breytons match jerseys — a moment that lit a spark in him. Inspired by this act of kindness, Sindile has since started a youth rugby programme in his community to help keep children off the streets and involved in positive, structured activities. The ripple effect of this single event has been nothing short of inspiring.
