- **Event Description**: Tana Fedewa, LMSW Director- Center for SurvivorsAbout this Event Tana Fedewa, LMSW is the Director of the Michigan State University Center for Survivors (formerly known as the MSU Sexual Assault Program. She is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan. Tana advocates for trauma-informed services, response, and interventions on campus and in the community. She values working in a collaborative, innovative, and multi-disciplinary environment at MSU. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).Tana received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Women and Gender Studies from Grand Valley State University in 2003. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Master of Social Work Degree and a Child and Family Advocacy Certificate in 2005. She worked as Sexual Assault Therapist, Intensive Outreach Therapist for youth in foster care, and as a Crisis Counselor in a Child Advocacy Center for the first 8 years of her career.In 2014, Tana returned to Michigan State University as a Therapist with the Sexual Assault Program. In 2018, Tana was named the Director of the MSU Sexual Assault Program and was appointed to the Michigan State University Relationship Violence and Sexual Misconduct Expert Advisory Workgroup. She is actively working to change the culture at Michigan State University. In her spare time, Tana enjoys reading, camping, traveling, and spending time with her partner and her imaginative and spirited daughters and her energetic puppies, Zoey and Henry.
