Join the Kiwanis Club of Brownwood for a fun-filled morning of fishing at Early Town Center Lake. This in-person event is perfect for kids 16 and under who love the outdoors and want to learn how to fish. The first 150 checked in on June 6 will get a free rod, reel, and bait. Pre-registration is required for planning. TWPD will provide a limited loaner tackle. Additionally, there will be educational programs from TPWD Inland Fisheries, Lake Brownwood State Parks, TPWD Game Warden, Lake Brownwood Patrol, Texas Forest Service, Heart of Texas Nature Center. Bring your fishing gear or borrow some of ours, either way, get ready to catch some fish!

Our event celebrates fishing for kids of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're taking your first steps into the world of angling or you're a seasoned pro, there's something for everyone to enjoy. This is a golden opportunity to connect with nature, forge new friendships, and create lasting memories.

Fish not in a weigh in bag with water will not be weighed in. 

Pecan Valley Kiwanis will cook hot dogs with chips and drinks until they run out.

The Hut will be on site selling refreshments.
