- **Event Description**: In recognition of Lyme Disease Awareness Month, The Vilas County Public Health Department, Trees for Tomorrow, Tara Lila Trail Management Organization and Vilas Coalition on Activity and Nutrition will be hosting their first annual Tick Free Trek on Saturday, May 16th, 2026!

This event is free to the public and will be focused on providing education about the symptoms and long-term effects of Lyme Disease and other tickborne illnesses. 

Join us for one of the two-hour sessions, the first from 9 AM - 11 AM, and the second from 12 PM - 2 PM.

Each session includes a short trailhead educational lecture about tickborne illness and an hour-long guided hike through the Tara Lila Trail System! Well-behaved dogs and strollers are welcome!

All participants will have a chance to win a raffle prize!
