- **Event Description**: Join us for Tree's For Tomorrow's first ever Bio Blitz! A day to catalogue species and learn while we do!

During this class (the last of our 3 bio blitzes this day) we'll discuss the importance of citizen science before learning about vernal pools and their springtime significance to our Northwoods. We'll then head to the field to explore one of these pools.

TFT educator Beth will be working with local vernal pool fan Anne Small to teach you all about why they love wandering the forests in the dim light to experience the first signs of spring and what these vernal pools do for our local ecosystems.

Bathrooms will be available for the indoor portion of the program. Participants are encouraged to wear weather appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. Water bottles and snacks are recommended. Feel free to bring things to assist with your birding such as binoculars and field guides.

This Tara Lila sponsored program is FREE to the public, although pre-registration is required, and spaces are limited. Birding with the Northwoods Land Trust is suggested for participants 15 years of age and older. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

In class presentation- participants will gather in the classroom to learn about bio blitzes and citizen science before discussing vernal pools and their importance to amphibians
-Field portion: Participants will caravan to a field location to visit a vernal pool and catalogue species found.
