The current Union Square shopping centre consists of approx. 555,000sq ft (51,600sq m) of retail and leisure space.Union Square enjoyed a strong 2025, boosted by the expansion of Marks and Spencer. The centre recorded 13.5 million visits last year which is an increase from the year before. The highest ever footfall was recorded on the Saturday of The Tall Ships with 78,685 people visiting Union Square.The opening of IKEA will be significant in 2026 and will interest Aberdeen Entrepreneurs as they recently spoke at one of our sessions.Come along and hear about the challenges facing the retail sector and how Union Square has to a certain extent bucked the trend.
