- **Event Description**: Our next chanting session is on Sunday 12th July, 10:30-12:00 at the Miners' Institute hall in Langley Park. This is the day following the Durham Miners Gala and our group is so very proud to be represented on the women's banner, paraded with all the others at the Big Meeting. 'Our' banner was created in 2018 (top row, second from the right in the photo.) 
We've been meeting once a month continuously since 2009, via Zoom during Covid times and our enthusiasm for singing together has never waned. Every session is thoroughly joyful and uplifting. All are welcome to join our lovely, friendly group of women.

Witton Women chanting group meets on the first or second Sunday of each month. We share chants and mantra from a variety of different cultural traditions. No musical experience is needed and no expertise in singing. There are no complicated tunes or words to learn, no 'good' or 'bad' voices, no pressure to perform. It's joyful, uplifting and heart-warming.
Starts at 10:30, finish at 12:00. You may like to bring water to drink, also percussion instruments such as a frame drum, rattle or shakers to add rhythm to our chants. Tea and biscuits are provided at the end of the session but please bring your own mug.
Pay on the door: £10, or pay as you can afford.
