What does it mean to serve a nation when our ideals often outpace our reality?

Join Kenan Institute for Ethics and host Adriane Lentz-Smith for a conversation with General Charles Q. Brown, Jr., former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, about duty, mission and what it means to fight for America.

At a time of evolving geopolitical landscapes and amidst many reminders that America is an unfinished project, General Brown will help us consider our responsibilities to those who have labored to fulfill our nation’s promise — and what our obligations beyond our borders might be as the greatest military power in the world.

This event takes place at the Durham Arts Council. Seating is first come, first serve. We advise guests to budget a little extra time to find parking on nearby streets and in downtown parking garages.
