The old way of wrapping up your workday in RTP might have involved rushing to finish tasks and grabbing a quick meal to eat alone.
Let’s change that.
As we reimagine our work routines, let’s rethink how we end our days. Every Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Boxyard RTP will feature a live acoustic singer-songwriter on the BeatBox stage. The artist(s) and genre will change each month, but the goal is the same: order some food, enjoy the fresh air, and give yourself the time to unwind and recharge after a busy day.
This Week’s Performer: Matt Booth Trio
Matt Booth is a bassist, composer, and educator based in Durham NC. Over the last fifteen years, he has worked continuously in a wide range of groups and in various musical styles, both in his previous home of New Orleans, and touring around the world. His latest album “Sun Prints” is with a new quintet project, and he has released numerous albums over the years as a co-leader of the piano trio Extended, his quartet Palindromes, and the guitar trio Some Antics. For these concerts at Boxyard, he will present a new trio playing recent original compositions of contemporary instrumental music. Booth’s pursuits have led to performances at standout festivals such as the Ottawa Jazz Festival, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, South by Southwest, and the Burlington Jazz Festival, and has been twice nominated by Offbeat Magazine for the Best Bass Player award.
