Duke University's Power Up series will introduce you to current issues and trends in this rapidly evolving sector.As climate change and its impacts intensify, the decarbonization of energy systems is a pressing priority for humanity. How is the global transition to clean energy unfolding so far in the United States and throughout the world? How is the escalation of electricity demand (due to data centers and other large energy users) affecting the energy transition?Duke experts will share insights on these topics at our Power Up series, which will provide an overview of the many factors that will shape our energy future.Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot! We'll touch on market forces, policy challenges, emerging technologies, and more! You'll leave feeling more interested in this dynamic sector and more prepared to talk with energy industry professionals at networking events this fall.There's so much material to cover, we need two sessions. Be sure to register for both!· Session 1: Intro to Energy Science & Technology, Thurs., Sept. 10, 5:30-7 p.m. — Get the latest on key trends and potential game changers in clean energy tech. Led by Tim Johnson (Nicholas School of the Environment) and Rebecca Simmons (Pratt School of Engineering).·  — Big fan of clean energy? Join us to explore policy's role in changing the global energy system at home and abroad. Led by Nicholas Institute experts Jackson Ewing, Eric Parajon, and Asreeta Ushasri.Students are highly encouraged to attend both sessions, but it's also okay to sign up for only one if your schedule doesn't allow for both.
