Liberate - International Woman's Day Charity Boogie

On Thursday 7th of March Fabio’s Bar will be teaming up with Durham University Intersectional Feminist Society to Liberate you from the repetitive Durham scene by bringing you an event like no other. To mark international woman’s day 2018, we will be inviting three gifted female DJ’s to showcase their skills and celebrate the remarkable contributions of women to society across all walks of life.

⭐⭐⭐SET TIMES⭐⭐⭐
10:30-12:00 Isabel Edkins
12:00-01:00 Meg Ward
01:00-02:00 Helen Griffiths

Headlining the event will be none other than Meg Ward. Meg has been shaking up the Newcastle scene for some time now. A respected name in the Apex and Ill behaviour rosters, Meg has already taken to the decks alongside the likes of Alan Fitzpatrick. She has upcoming sets lined up with Kettama, Amelie Lens and Helena Hauff. Meg will be bringing her unique blend of disco and house, overflowing with feel-good vibes to put a smile on your face and get your feet moving.

Supporting Meg, we are very excited to be joined by two homegrown Durham talents, Isabel Edkins and Helen Griffiths. A relative newcomer to the scene, Isabel has blown us away with her natural aptitude and capacity to learn, quickly developing into a well-rounded and confident DJ. She’s hungry for club experience and we are more than happy to oblige.

Helen is an authentic grassroots DJ who has been quietly making a name for herself in the house party scene for some time now. She caught our eye at the DU Charity Fashion show after party when she transformed a student bedroom into an intense musical experience with her powerful and dynamic set. She’s definitely one to watch and we are delighted to see what she will bring to her performance.

All money raised will go to The Halo Project. A national project that support's victims of honour-based violence, forced marriages and FGM by providing appropriate advice and help to victims.

Tickets will cost £2/£3 on fixr. OTD to be announced. There will also be a limited number of £5 combo tickets available which include entry to Sightlines 'Womansplain' Open Mic Night which is running earlier in the evening.

These are going to sell out fast so snap yours up quickly to avoid disappointment.
