Neal Page (Steve Martin), a tightly wound marketing executive, just wants to get home to Chicago for Thanksgiving. But when his flight is canceled, he’s forced to team up with Del Griffith (John Candy), an endlessly talkative shower-curtain-ring salesman with a knack for chaos. What follows is a hilariously disastrous cross-country odyssey filled with breakdowns, wrong turns, and hotel mishaps. As the miles pile up, so does their unlikely friendship, leading to an unexpectedly heartfelt ending that turns this madcap comedy into a timeless holiday classic.
