Houghall Spring Show & Open Day 2019
Following the massive success of 2018's event, East Durham College is delighted to announce that the Houghall Spring Show, in Durham, is returning in 2019!
The event will be held at the Durham-based campus on Sunday 19th May 2019 between 10am and 4pm.
Entry is only £3 per adult and £2 per child (parking and under 1s are free) and there are loads of fascinating demonstrations and lots of free activities throughout the day, including:
Look round our small animal care centre and see our snakes, lizards, tortoises and small mammals
Sheep shearing demos
See our farm yard animals: cows & calves, pigs & piglets and our sheep
Durham Falconry birds of prey
Have a go on our free zip line with our tree surgery team
Punch & Judy shows
Face painting and balloon modelling
Free Children's craft activities
NEW FOR 2019 - the Dunholm Vikings will be visiting us, showing off viking weapons and armour and offering exciting activities including butter churning, netmaking and demonstrating combat too!

The Houghall Campus is situated on the A177, just south of Durham, near Shincliffe. Visitors are welcome to bring their dogs.
The day also gives visitors a great opportunity to find out more about Houghall and the wide range of full and part time courses on offer, including Agriculture, Animal Care, Arboriculture & Forestry, Countryside Management, Dog Grooming, Equine Horse Care Studies, Floristry, Horticulture and Veterinary Nursing.
