We will dive into the "why" and "how" of shifting from a wild forager to an active steward, discussing how home cultivation protects vulnerable wild populations, builds vital corridors for Grey County’s pollinators, and creates a resilient food source that thrives in our unique climate. Whether you are looking to replace a thirsty lawn with "edimentals" or want to master the art of propagating rare native species, you’ll wander our nursery beds to see these principles in action and leave with the practical skills to cultivate a garden that feeds both your family and the local wildlife.

This workshop offers a tiered approach, so whether you are a 'beginner' or an 'expert' when it comes to edible native plants, we will strive to ensure beginner, intermediate and advanced gardeners will come away with lots of new knowledge. Working in the earth is part of the workshop. Recipes for making edibles will be given, as well as the ability to sample food (call it a large snack), and take home 1 plant. You are welcome to purchase plants at the end of the workshop.
