OVERNIGHT FARM TRIP

Traditionally, the Waldorf grade 3 farm trip is a landmark, overnight experience designed for nine-year-olds, focusing on hands-on, meaningful work to foster independence, responsibility, and connection to the earth. It aligns with the "nine-year change" by offering a, grounding experience where children learn to care for animals, work in fields, and live in community.

Key Aspects of the Farm Trip:

• Purpose: To teach students how humans care for themselves through food, shelter, and labour.

• Activities: Children engage in tasks like milking cows, making butter, feeding animals, mucking stalls, planting, harvesting, and composting; to name a few.

• Life Skills: Students often help cook their own meals, clean up, and manage their own belongings.
