About the event

Black History Program
Join us on Sunday, February 22nd for a day of Celebration and Worship as we acknowledge our Black History Month. What do you know and what have you been told about your history? All are welcome to attend and share your thoughts with us.

Black History Month is an annual observance in February celebrating the history, achievements, culture, and contributions of African Americans, honoring their vital role in shaping the U.S. and the world, while also acknowledging the struggles against racism and discrimination. Started by Dr. Carter G. Woodson in 1926 as a week-long event, it became a month-long recognition to highlight Black stories often omitted from mainstream history, promoting awareness, education, and understanding for all Americans.
