The Caravan, led by Captain Matt Clarke, will depart promptly at 5:30 AM for the Cape Canaveral Region of AACA's annual show entitled Celebration of Cars, with the theme this year being 100 Years of Pontiac: The show is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, from 10-3, at the American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne. One free museum admission comes with every registration. See flyer attached for more information and for pre-registration, which closes on March 21. Continuing on from our prior notice of this show, we spoke with the show organizer for further details, and we have learned the following: - The "Theme" cars ("100 Years of Pontiacs" this year), all get to park together in a central area as long as they pre-registered somewhat well before the 3/21 deadline to allow for parking planning (hint, hint!) - The Pontiacs will be voted on specifically, but not by year or car type. - Be careful using the online registration: www.antiqueautoclubcc.com as all the fields are required as it is fed into their software. If the online software has a place, put in "Dixie Chapter POCI." - We need to be "parked" prior to 10 AM. Our caravan on Saturday 3/28, led by Matt Clarke, (904) 613-2214, 68bird@comcast.net, plans to leave from the McDonalds across from the Avenues Mall on Phillips Hwy, promptly at 5:30 AM (it's a 24 hour McDonalds so if you want breakfast, get there a bit earlier), which should get us in there by 8:30 AM, so we're not rushing to unload any cars. This is a big show; it had 500 cars last year. The museum building holds over 400 cars, so that should be a nice tour. The registered car gets 1 free entry into the museum. For passengers it's a $35 donation each. As you register, please drop us a note.
