- **Event Description**: BOB ROSS-STYLE LANDSCAPE OIL PAINTING WORKSHOP! Open to EVERYONE - you do not have to be a Veteran! EVERYONE WELCOME!

Six-weeks, painting 6 different landscape scenes—hands-on, comprehensive, and progressive workshop in Landscape Oil Painting. Instructor: Deborah Kelroy, BA Studio Art, Fort Lewis College, who studied and painted personally with Steve Ross, Bob Ross's son! Consecutive Saturdays, 11:30 am to 3:30 pm, starting September 12, 2026 to November 11, 2026.

This method of painting requires no drawing skills, prior painting experience, or patterns, allowing even the complete beginner to finish a fantastic original oil painting on their very first session! Participants are amazed as they see improvement with each session and every painting. Step-by-step, we paint beautiful SKIES, SUNSETS, CLOUDS, MOUNTAINS, SNOW, LAKES, RIVERS, WATERFALLS, SEASCAPES, ROCKS, AND MORE, as well as several styles of TREES (of course!)—EVERYTHING a landscape artist needs to know how to paint eye-catching landscapes with big brushes! See individual landscape painting descriptions by clicking on each photo.

Professional artist materials and instruction provided. Culminates in two bonus art show/exhibits for students at the VFW (Sunday, November 1st, Veterans Benefit Breakfast 9-11 am, and VFW Veterans Day Open House, Wednesday, November 11th, 12:15 pm to 3 pm). Additionally, we host an Artists Reception on Thursday, November 19th, 6:00 pm at the Durango Public Library, which is open to the public. Participants will personally share what art, oil painting, and the Community Arts Durango workshop has done for and meant to them. For a finalé, the artists' best paintings will be displayed at the Durango Public Library in November and December 2026.
