Join Dubuque County Conservation staff for a guided wagon ride tour along the Heritage Trail—timed perfectly for peak fall colors! This special experience is designed with accessibility in mind, making it a great opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts of all abilities. The wagon has three steps with a railing for entry, or participants may use a gradual incline ramp. 

Travel through a 450-foot deep valley once carved by the railroad, passing remnants of historic mining and mill towns. Along the way, you’ll discover the trail’s rugged beauty, which now welcomes thousands of bicyclists and hikers each year.

Tour Details

Duration: Approximately 90-120 minutes. There are three sessions: 8:30 AM, 11 AM, or 1:30 PM

Group Size: Limited to 16 participants

Amenities: Restroom stop included

What to Bring: Sunscreen, hat, and water are recommended (most of the trail is tree-covered)
