‘The Workhouse’ @ Hill of the O’Neill

Join Time Steps Living History, Hill of the O’Neill and Libraries NI for the annual trip back to Dungannon Workhouse.

During this two hour programme, your pupils will visit Dungannon Library and explore how the town was in days gone by, with an emphasis on the famine and the workhouse. This will be followed up by a visit to the workhouse itself, ruled over by the fearsome Mrs McKinley…

Children will enter the workhouse and discover what life was like as an inmate in 1840s Ireland…
