Come reawaken your senses and forge a deeper connection with nature's healing power. 

Join Dorothy, The Foraging Faerie, for an enriching session in nature exploring the world of wild plants and ancient herbal wisdom inspired by ex prisoner and herbalist Nicole Rose's book ‘The Prisoner's Herbal’.

Imagine you are a prisoner, how would you have a true connection to nature while behind bars?  Nicole used her time in prison to develop her love of herbs, a deep connection to nature and was very inventive in using the wild herbs in the prison courtyard together with basic foods from the prison canteen  to make simple remedies. The theme of her book is self care and self help to survive just like the rebellious herbs growing in the cracks survive against the odds. Even in the most dire circumstances, there are herbs waiting to be your allies. This session is an excellent starting point for those new to foraging and herbalism and will help you to deepen your connection to wild herbs as we enter the darker  months of the year.

What You'll Experience:

Gentle Foraging Walk: A gentle walk to identify wild herbs with incredible healing energy, inspired by The Prisoner's Herbal.

Botanical & Herbal Expertise: Dorothy will share her knowledge on how to use these wild ingredients to support your health and wellness.

Hands-On Potion Making: Return to Quantum Healing's studio to sample herbal drinks and create your own natural potions using foraged herbs.  


(Nicole wrote her herbal to support and encourage others and highlights 10 common herbs with their uses and when and how to use them. A cost price copy of the herbal is included in the ticket price).

Dorothy grew up gathering wild food in the Scottish borders and now lives in west Fife. She refreshed her botanical and herbal skills studying for a Certificate of Herbology (Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh) in 2019/20. Her first organised foraging walk was in April 2021 at the Yoga Social yurt in Charlestown. She loves giving people hands-on experience in gathering common wild herbs and mixing potions with them.
