- **Event Description**: Red Tent Otepotiti Dunedin is hosting Jane Catherine Severn who is a practicing femenome® therapist, psychotherapist, Pascha therapist, writer and educator based in Otautahi (Christchurch) to the Dunedin book launch of her most recent publication ‘Your Fenomenal Menopause: the femenome guide to your midlife alchemy’, at Ayu Community Space, 7 Crawford Street, Dunedin, on the 12th of July at 1pm followed by afternoon tea.

Jane Catherine will offer an introductory talk to the body of knowledge she has gained that represents a radical departure from mainstream beliefs and attitudes about the 4M hormonal sequence that shapes women’s lives: menarche, menstrual cycle years, menopause and mature life; why women suffer in such large numbers in their menstrual cycles and menopause experience, what hormones are and why they behave in such disruptive ways in our menstrual cycles and menopause and the intricate and exquisite design of our 4M sequence that goes far beyond the medical/reproductive function we have assumed to be its purpose.

In her mid-twenties, Jane Catherine realised that there is much more to know than we have ever been told about why female hormones behave in the ways they do, whereupon she embarked on her lifelong mission of offering women a new view of themselves, and the intricate, elegant and supremely purposeful design of their monthly and midlife changes. 

With 40 years of studying women’s lives from the intimate perspective of her therapy practice, combined with her deep respect for the ways of Nature and absolute faith in the integrity of the female design, Jane Catherine gave birth to the unique and inspiring body of knowledge she calls “conscious menstruality” and her original model, “the femenome®”.  

In 2005 Jane Catherine created Luna House (www.lunahouse.co.nz), an educational and therapeutic specialty service offering workshops, courses, seminars and consultations.  Jane Catherine has authored two books, ‘The World Within Women: the femenome guide to your menstrual cycle’ and her most recent publication ‘Your Fenomenal Menopause: the femenome guide to your midlife alchemy'.   Both books will be available for purchase at this event.

This is an opportunity for women to see themselves in a new way, outside of the medical model, re-cognising how their cycles make perfect sense, especially in the ways they do not quite fit in the cultural norms that have been designed for people who do not have menstrual cycles or menopause.

We therefore wish to extend an open invitation to you to the Dunedin launch of Jane Catherine’s most recent book ‘Your Fenomenal Menopause: the femenome guide to your midlife alchemy’, hosted by Red Tent Otepoti Dunedin at Ayu Community Space on the 12th of July at 1pm.
