Tykes on Bikes - Under 5s (Public Bike Ride + Coaching)
What is Tykes on Bikes Cycle Training?
Tykes on Bikes (Public Cycle Training for children under 5) provides children with the chance to ride with others on “the road” (painted tracks which simulate roads) and have fun in a group bike ride session. It introduces children to riding and helps them progressively gain the skills and experience they need to ride safely and confidently (on balance bikes). The sessions are delivered by qualified coaches at local schools that have painted cycle tracks. Our coaches will teach your children about safe helmet use, balance bike safety, and how to follow road rules when cycling in a safe painted.
How can you get involved?
The Dunedin City Council has partnered with BikeSchool to deliver FREE public Tykes on Bikes training. If you and your child are keen to participate, and you are keen on active transport such as walking, cycling and scootering in the community, then please get in touch for more information and to register your interest.
