This immersive VR experience lets you step inside Captain Scott's famous hut and interact with the artefacts left by the explorers that inhabited it, including Captain Scott himself, Ernest Shackleton, and young New Zealander Clarence Hare.
 
Take a ride in the hydrogen balloon, feed the huskies, get up close to the Discovery ship, and much more as you explore the stories behind this iconic place in polar history. 

Tūhura Otago Museum will also be showcasing a display of Antarctic artefacts related to Robert Falcon Scott, including an ice axe given to him by Captain George Hooper, and a pair of boots marked EW, for Edward Wilson, the English doctor who was a member of Scott’s Discovery and Terra Nova expeditions.

The VR experience takes up to 30 minutes and is suitable for everyone 11 years and older. Please book ahead of time to secure your spot!
