Stonehurst Gourmet Ltd is the combination of Kates's love of herbs and creative cooking. A love of gardening and cooking has been passed down by both her Mum and Grandma and while some of the recipes used to create the condiments are historical others have been created by experimentation and tasting!
After years of gardening and working in plant nurseries it is still somewhat of a surprise to find out that an everyday garden plant is actually classed as a 'herb' and can be eaten. Much of our historical knowledge of plants has been diminished over the industrial era with the loss of home gardens and foraging and it is great to be able to rediscover this past knowledge - culinary & medicinal - and pass it on to those who are interested.
Kate would like to invite you for an evening of discovering herbs - some well known and some not so well known - and how to make the most of them.
All Stonehurst Gourmet Ltd condiments are gluten, nut, egg and dairy free HOWEVER what they could be served with may contain allergy inducing food*
Tickets for this event are $50 per person and include:
A welcome house cocktail or mocktail.
An intro to selected herbs, their history & uses - both culinary and medicinal** - and will demo (with tasting!) some easy herb flavoured 'finger foods'. Other condiments also available for tasting on the night - just in time for Christmas parties!
10% off on any No.8 Distillery bottles purchased on the night.
A free take home 'Herb Salt' sample for all attendees.
