Event details
We hope you can join us for an incredibly interesting and thought-provoking discussion on:
“Sitting on the Fence? New Zealand’s stance toward Gaza and the Israel-Iran conflict during the second Trump administration".
Whilst Professor Patman is going to share his views, he is also looking forward to an open discussion with guests. Make sure you don't miss out on this informative discussion.
Our Speakers
Professor Robert Patman is one of the University of Otago’s Inaugural Sesquicentennial Distinguished Chairs and a specialist in international relations, and is our August Club Otago speaker. You'll have seen him on the news as he makes regular contributions to the national and global media on international issues.
Robert is looking forward to questions and comments after his talk and with a topic like this, we suspect this will be an interesting discussion.
Dr Alisa Boucsein from the Department of Paediatrics & Child Health at the Dunedin School of Medicine will be our "Face of Research". Alisa will give a brief overview of the research she is undertaking as part of an OMRF annual grant awarded last year.
Alisa's research focuses on using cutting-edge technology to help people manage type 1 diabetes, a lifelong condition often diagnosed in childhood. Since there is currently no cure, those living with the condition must carefully monitor and manage their blood sugar every day, which can be a major burden.
Alisa studies how advanced technologies like automated insulin delivery systems can make life easier and improve health for children, youth and adults living with type 1 diabetes.
