NZTrio presents Hypnotique

Uzbek-born Australian composer Elena Kats-Chernin blends classical and contemporary styles in Calliope Dreaming ahead of Gabriel Fauré's lyrical and elegant Piano Trio in D minor, contrasting with Pascal Le Boeuf's jazz-adjacent Obliquely Wrecked. A whirlwind of motion begins with Lyell Cresswell's virtuosic Moto Perpetuo, before the concert finishes with the full Romantic immersion of Schönberg's utterly beautiful Verklärte Nacht.
