Wildcards Aotearoa is vocalist David Eggleton, the former New Zealand Poet Laureate 2019 –2022, together with Richard Wallis, guitarist and backing vocalist, and Hiliako Iaheto, bass player, percussionist and backing vocalist. Together they perform contemporary poems and songs, some with much humour, about life in Aotearoa and the Pacific.

This Sunday afternoon set will be a fast-moving lyrical and comic portrait of Aotearoa New Zealand and its place in the Moana Nui, using cascading language and epic musicality. 

This is not poetry as you expect it. Nau mai, haere mai!
