- **Event Name**: Journey to the Psoas Muscle
- **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 03 Jun, 2026 at 07:30 am – Wed, 03 Jun, 2026 at 09:00 am
- **Event Description**: Understand and work with the most important muscle in the body, the psoas, which connects the upper body to lower, and often holds tension that when released gives us freedom to move and feel with more ease. When the body is more at ease, the mind - with all its thoughts & feelings - follows.

This is your invitation to understand and release tension -a little or a lot - from the psoas and surrounding muscles (the spine, hips etc).

A tight psoas often whispers (or shouts!) the ancient survival message: “I need to protect myself.” It holds the accumulated tension of chronic stress, unprocessed fear, past trauma, and the modern habit of prolonged sitting, pulling the lumbar spine forward, tilting the pelvis, and restricting both breath and fluid movement. In contrast, a balanced, supple psoas communicates a deep sense of safety: “I am secure enough to move freely, to reach toward life, and to create.”

A supple psoas becomes a powerful bridge between instinct and intention—supporting graceful posture, dynamic stability, and energetic flow through the core of the body. When we approach this deep muscle with patience—through slow, breath-centered movements, mindful hip-opening stretches, constructive rest —we invite profound shifts. Physical tension melts, the diaphragm regains its full range, the nervous system down-regulates, and stored emotions often surface and dissolve. Over time, this work cultivates not only better alignment, mobility, and core resilience, but also a grounded emotional presence and a renewed capacity to flourish. The psoas, in its wisdom, teaches us that true strength lies in the ability to both protect ourselves when needed and to open fully when it is safe to do so.

Come as you are and leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more grounded and alive.

My sessions always incorporate gentle movement, breath awareness, and mindfulness to release stress, listen to the body's signals, and support nervous system regulation. A simple practice, with a focus on tuning in to the breath and sensations in the rather than on getting the pose right. We'll be using the asanas to get into the body, rather than the body to get into the asana.

No experience of yoga needed and any age / level of fitness welcome.

Tea and treats at the end.

Please reserve your spot by purchasing a ticket or get in touch with me directly if you'd rather pay cash. Keep cash alive whenever possible!
