Hyzlander 2022, 28 January | Event in Dunedin | AllEvents.in Hyzlander 2022
We are back at Waiora Scout Camp again for Dunedin’s fifth installment of the Hyzlander!

We believe the camp provides some of the best variety of holes you’ll find in NZ from long open to tight tree lined holes, elevation changes and more. As with previous years there will be accommodation available on site which will mean you can practice as long as you have the energy, or enough light.

Initial Divisions will be as follows:

Pro Open (MPO)
Advanced (MA1, FA1)
Master (MA40, FA40)
Grandmaster (MA50, FA50)
Senior Grandmaster (MA60, FA60)
Junior
Mens & Womens in each dependant on minimum numbers required for each division

Following feedback from last years event we will be adding an option on the registration form to request a different division if it is not initially offered. These divisions will only be added to the event if there is sufficient demand for it to be viable.

Entry Fees
Pro Open (Men & Women) – TBC
Advanced & Am – TBC
Junior – TBC
Lunch included for Saturday & Sunday

Course Map

2021 Hyzlander players manual can be found below, much of the course will be the same but once the new course is confirmed we will post a link to the map.

Please note; some layout changes may be applied. We’ll announce the course details once confirmed and update the map accordingly.

Players Handbook:

Please be sure to download the 2022 Players Manual before your arrival as the cell coverage can be patchy.

Accommodation:

The Scout Camp has facilities to sleep plenty of people (just under 80) in comfortable accommodation through a number of huts. These will be first come first served, so get in early to be sure of on site accommodation. Also please let us know in your registration if you know who you would like to share a cabin with, as this will be your opportunity to choose otherwise it will be random. There are 4 people to each room.
Accommodation will be available Thurs Friday and Saturday nights. You will, however, need your own bedding/sleeping bags. On site accommodation available will be limited, so being quick if you want to ensure you get a spot. If you want to bring Family down and stay let us know when you put your entry in so we can confirm this. We will do a family rate for accommodation, as we know it can be expensive getting the whole family away.

Accommodation fee: TBC
As per 2020 event accommodation can be booked for 3 nights (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) with your registration.

Initial registrations will be open on July 31st

At this point there will be no camping or caravan/campervan availability for this event in the Scout Camp property.

Schedule:

We will be continuing with the format from our last two events, and will be using tee times for this event rather than the NZ standard of shotgun starts. We are hopeful that this will again allow everyone to, not only get a solid amount of disc golf in over the weekend, but will also allow you to watch and support some of you friends and family that may be playing.
This year we will be tweaking the course once again to give us a 24 hole layout (although this may change in the coming months). The tournament will comprise 2 Rounds, 1 per day.

So the Schedule at this stage will be as follows:
(schedule is subject to change if it is required)
Thursday 28th January
6:00pm – Accommodation available for those competitors staying on Thursday night
Note: Course is NOT available for practice on Thursday
Friday 29th January
7:00am – Groups published
10:00am – Course will available for practice
6:00pm – Players meeting at the Scout Camp Main Hall
Evening events TBC
Saturday 29th January
7:30am – Round 1
Evening social event held at the Scout Camp, exact details TBC
Sunday 30st January
7:00am – Round 2 (seeded by division)
4:30pm – Prizegiving (May be moved forward if possible so everyone can get on the road asap)

Please try where possible to book flights outside of these times as we can't guarantee the schedule on a course of this nature.
