Ruth Reid is an award winning artist who enjoys painting large landscapes in thick, luscious oils.
When Ruth stands before her easel, either in her studio or on location in the wilderness areas she loves, she creates a unique outcome every time but her aspiration is consistent – to share New Zealand’s stunning and pristine landscapes as seen through her eyes.
Her switch from a career in education to that of an artist could be described as a silver lining following the Canterbury earthquakes – time to explore a career she dreamed about. 
She is New Zealand born and has a rural background near Geraldine and Timaru.  As a skier, tramper and camper (a small campervan) Ruth loves adventures in the mountains, the bush and the roads less-travelled.
